It is hard to imagine the news getting much (note: this does not say "any") worse for the semi-equip group. That would lead me to think that the trading range of 26-32 is at least a near-term bottom for AMAT.

I tend to think the market is pricing in a mid-99 recovery, and there are no guarantees this will happen. However, even if a recovery doesn't materialize in mid-99, the CEOs will probably do the carrot routine again and state they feel a full recovery will happen in the next quarter or two. And they can't be penalized for stating an opinion.

My understanding is that the B2B is due out tomorrow. My guess is that it will be weak, possibly even surprisingly weak.
