LOS GATOS, Calif., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Every day, thousands of people discard their old answering machines and switch to the convenience of Voice Mail from their local telephone company. Robust features such as answering multiple calls at the same time, increased message capacity, group messaging, and remote accessibility make commercial Voice Mail very attractive.
But once people make the switch to Voice Mail, many people find that it is not quite what they expected. They begin to miss some of the more endearing functions of their old answering machine that they had relied on. Making Voice Mail All That It Should Be
The S-200 Voice Mail Manager combines the power of Voice Mail with the features of answering machines. The Voice Mail Manager's design features buttons that enable the user to easily control common functions such as play, save, delete, fast forward, and rewind. At the push of a button, the Voice Mail Manager will dial up your Voice Mail and then automatically begin playing your messages. This mimics how most people use answering machines today. They come in, press the play button and go about the activities while listening to all their messages and then taking notes when necessary. Without the S-200, a user would remains tied to the telephone pressing keys until they reach the last message.
The control buttons also give you the option of sending calls directly to voice mail without ever ringing the telephone or shutting off the device's speaker during the screening process once you determine you don't want to take the call. In the case of a nuisance call, you can immediately end the screening process and instruct the device to automatically delete the message once the caller finishes.
Additionally, the Voice Mail Manager makes it possible to use a fax machine on the same line as Voice Mail, eliminating the need for a second line just for the fax machine.
Another popular feature is the ability to ''live'' screen incoming calls as callers leave a message in Voice Mail. If the call is important, you can retrieve the caller from Voice Mail at any time during the message by picking up the receiver. Another convenience is the clearly visible message waiting light that flashes when you have a message waiting.
