Maurice. Reuters reported today:

"Motorola Inc said Thursday the Canadian Department fo Industry had adopted CDMA as an approved telecommunciations standard in Canada".

Also reported is the bidding war for 493 licenses. NextWave is the leading bidder though no $$ amount was given. Total bids now $9.96 billion. Article is too long but most significant part I see is big time Korean support, mainly Samsung, is behind Nextwave. They stand to win big in terms of manufacturing CDMA equipement. It is nice to have their support, both in terms of deep pockets and the fact that CDMA is up and running in Korea. They should know CDMA performance, a lot more than you and I.
