RE this: "Gilder's statement that the total bandwidth devoted to communications systems world wide, in this information age, will TRIPLE every year for the next 25 years." Not clear how he derives the numbers behind this prediction. Three to the 25th power is about 100 billion. With bandwidth so abundant it's value would drop to the point where it's not profitable.
