Johnathan,

I don't see the LU/ADI/TI/COMS/WSTL team allowing Alcatel, Fujitsu and Siemens to win every contract. Westell requires TI to get their silicon in order "power/size". This will enable Westell to engineer single slotted line cards for the existing Lucent 5ESS, SLC-5/2000 products. Fujitsu and Siemens can't provide an overlay solution, since they don't have equipment installed to overlay. Alcatel felt they needed to spend 4.4billion for an existing switching platform to compete against Lucent and Nortel. An overlay solution will enable Westell to compete on price. The TI solution will enable software downloads for ADSL heavy/lite, with a migration path towards VDSL. I'm quietly holding my Westell shares.. until later.

PS. Thanks for the link!
