Bob Naismith just returned a call that I had made to him earlier.

Until he received my call, he was not aware of the thread here at SI. That means that Galton never informed him of the concepts that were presented here, or that he at least never presented them in context.

Dr. Naismith indicated that deals such as that with Connaught are difficult to "do". I clearly indicated that I don't think that is true, and I have the background in both R&D and license negotiations to say such with authority. He was not aware of my background in management of research groups devoted to sepsis or of my experience at PharMingen (way to go, Brucie!!).

I was left with the distinct impression that Naismith did not know what "PeproTech" is. I was left with the distinct impression that Naismith did not know about the Levy work.

I clearly voiced my opinion that, if the Connaught deal did not specifically exclude any IL-1 sequence for use in "naked" or "genetic" vaccines, it was a bad deal. Dr. Naismith indicated that we were talking a "Letter of Intent", that the scope of the deal was not finalized, and that my commentary was welcome.

So...... at least we have a rational and receptive "ear".

I want to be clear..... Dr. Naismith did not, in any way, say anything negative about management at CIST. However, as we talked, I got more and more angry at Brucie.
