D.J. your assumtions may be right inre 28.8 and 33.3 as far as not ALWAYS getting full speed on POTS lines, BUT we're talking apples and oranges as to how you can get 56 across copper.

I suggest you take a DEEPER look into 56kbps technology and how it will be implemented.

USRXs x2 is capable of 64kbps under "optimum conditions", and in fact "was" going to actually be called that originally, but because of what you have stated above, they decided to call it 56 since that was the "more likely" hookup speed.
