Personal opinions here....

Price if the Texaco deal does not go through? Serious immediate drop to slightly under $1, followed by recovery over several months to near current level once people realize that there are other refineries besides Texaco's.

Effect of currently-depressed oil prices upon Texaco's willingness to deal? I would hope that Texaco is well-enough run to realize that oil prices go up and oil prices go down and that a truly world-class company will want to be marching on down the road regardless of *today's* price. It takes a while to build plants like this, and Texaco *should* know it (although the anticipated application in Texaco's case will be less involved than might be for some other companies because Texaco already has the gasification (production gas, I think it's called) part in place.

Just a hunch here, but I would reckon that oil prices would have a slightly greater effect upon, say, SLHO or Sasol because their application is most frequently discussed for waste natural gas.

Just my hunches. Differing opinions welcomed.
