The G3, AIO and soon the iMac are not simply stopping the defection to the Wintel platform, they're reversing it.

Latest data indicates that Apple is once again gaining market share in both education and the overall computer market.
Gaining market share because more old time users have decided to upgrade, not because they are dumping their windows to move to Mac.

Huh? Oversupply is good for Wintel users as it brings lower prices.
The only problem I foresee for Apple is whether they can make iMacs fast enough to satisfy demand.
I think we have yet to determine demand for the iMac. Early figures look very promising, but I think the coin is still in the air.
Perception of Apple and its fortunes has been their biggest problem for several years now.
This is mega-bogus. Everybody, including Sculley, Spindler, Amelio and Jobs say that Apple had BIG problems, and they really didn't start adressing until barely a year ago, after it posted a $700million loss.
But I guess for an Apple bull a $700 million loss is just a "perception" problem. |
