Taliban raid European Commission's Kabul office

KABUL: The European Commission's Kabul office was today raided and closed down by Taliban officials, local staff members here said. The European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) -- the commission's emergency donor arm -- was hit by a militia raiding party late in the afternoon, the sources told AFP. "We told them we are not an NGO and that we have semi-diplomatic status but they didn't listen," explained a local staff member. "They locked everything up and took away the keys."
