John, thanks for your response. You may recall that we met on SI a number of months ago. I explained that last Nov. I went to UCLA for the screening test. I was informed that I received a high score and was advised to see a cardiologist. I saw one of the UCLA doctors who then order the necessary follow-up studies. As poorly as I did on the CT Scan score is as good as I did on the follow-up studies. My cholesterol numbers were well within the normal ranges. However, my genes are a different story. Anyway, I was placed on a statin drug and my LDL reduced from 114 to 84. I asked the doctor for a follow-up scan following a year of being on the medication. She agreed, so I'll take the follow-up scan around Dec. or Jan. I want to see how my calcium score is doing now that my LDL was reduced to under 100. The doctor did say that some individuals have experienced a reduction in plaque after being on the statin drugs.

I saw the "fly through" studies and I would like to get one performed when I take my next scan.

Will let you know how things work out.
