IMO most people agree that ADSL or cable (or both) will eventually supercede POTS as the standard for Net access. "When" is a tougher question to answer than "if". Have you read posting #287? Brewer & co. are thinking about their future in the world of high speed access, not just in terms of providing Net access but providing other services as well.

The direction that the FCC is leaning is clearly not a good one for MSPG. But in general I think telecom deregulation opens more doors than it closes for MSPG. What remains to be seen is whether or not they can take advantage of those opportunities.
