Mon 20 Jul 98 News Release
Mr. Larry Reaugh reports
A 10,000 ft diamond drilling program has begun at the Watson Bar gold
project, 30km west of Clinton, British Columbia. The property hosts a
4km-long, northwesterly trending alteration zone. The Watson Bar project is
modelled as a low sulphidation epithermal gold prospect. Zone V, containing
some 139,189 tons grading 0.418 oz/t gold is modelled as a conduit vein
system that has healed a shallow dipping shear zone. This type of zone may
lead into a concentrated feeder zone containing broader higher grade
mineralization.
The drilling program will test to expand the strike and downdip extensions
(measuring 120m on strike by 340m down dip) of the zone V conduit for
evidence of the as yet undefined feeder zone with potential to contain
broader higher grade gold mineralization. IP surveys have indicated a
potential strike length of over 2km to the west.
Over the past weeks, Durfelt Geological has conducted a preliminary program
of compilation, field mapping and sampling to define additional targets for
this exploration program. Silt sampling, prospecting and geological mapping
were conducted in Upper Trimble and Second creeks. A 1:2000 geochemical
samples have been shipped for analysis and the results are expected later
in the week.
