Sage, you seem too have much more tech knowledge than me. You saw my point that ETEC had mucho troubles in the past because the products in place had unusually long service life. Why isn't it possible that we could be facing exactly that right now? Do you think the return on investment in this industry now supports as rapid a pace of technological evolution as in the recent past. I do not. I think the semi-equipment mfrs who depend on new fabs being built are going to have difficulties for a long time. I think the mfrs who address getting more chips out of existing wafer size plants will do RELATIVELY much better (and that would include ETEC). However, I think noone will do well on an absolute basis until the chip industry starts making money.
