Stuart I have my shares put away for the long term and am looking to add to it. The share price is the key to that second investment. IMHO Athm is an excellent growth play but should it be in the 50's? Mostly likely not if you look at it a value investor would most likely be on the floor having convulsions. Ratios are basically off the scale but the potential for growth is also off the scale. So how do you value these net stocks? I look at it like if one could go back in time and buy share's of ATT or Disney during there IPO. I know some will say I can't compare blue chips to a beginner. IMO we won't see ATHM visiting the twenties again, let alone the teens. It would be great to load up but I really doubt it. If this were 1989 and we hadn't seen the likes of MSFT, CSCO and Dell;Athm would most likely be a $4-$5 stock. I am in at $36 with a large profit in my pocket will I sell?No. Why? Simply because this is the same type of stk I've had before and sold too early. Had Yahoo at 26. Would I sell Athm at $200 in a year? Most likely not. I will see the Boom or Bust of this stock in 3-5 yrs. If I was a shorting this stock I would be very worried of that liftoff. But a good market correction could bring us down a bit. End result think L/T.
