If MOT pulls the plug on CPSX products it could seriously injure the comany, if not do it in! The good thing is that the company has several patents for their technology related to the heat sinks as well as diversifying into other things that I do not think MOT is heavily into (i.e. motor controllers). This is from the latest 10-K:

"The metal-matrix composite aluminum silicon carbide ('Al-SiC'),
manufactured using the Company's proprietary processes, is a material
system which meets all these requirements and which is finding acceptance
in the marketplace as a replacement for copper, copper-tungsten, copper-
moly, and graphite. In addition, the Company's aluminum nitride ('AlN')
ceramic components are used in applications where very high thermal
conductivity is required."

Yes there are competitors, from the latest 10-K the company lists the following competitors (some of these maybe potential winners as well!):
Lanxide Electronic Components, PCC Composites, and Ametek Specialty Materials as primary competitors.

What's the company doing to protect it's position? They are actively filing more domestic & international patents, trade secret protection and more R&D.

I found this company myself. (at least no one told me about it...I am probably not the first one on the threads to find and see something in CPSX either). I typically search out companies using various techniques and refine my searches and dig up information on the canidates and then publish the info when I feel the company has some potential.
