I had a nice response for you, but IE5 dropped it. I usually use navigator for SI, but for some reason I used the dog. MSFT simply has no more excuses about low product quality. They just can't manage that giganto bloat any longer. Product quality is a total nightmare. The only thing they have going for them is the complete failure of American competition in software. Here they are ready to explode because they are so bad, and our government is attacking them because they are presumably so good. The outcome will be government writing laws to protect MSFT from us under the reverse auspice. If anyone ever even mentions to me the glories of guvmen protection, I'll strangle them.

I had wrote that Esrey doesn't have a clue and FON is avoiding risk. They should be dumping their DSL plans and fighting tooth and nail, but they're cautious. Their stockholders are not happy with this approach.

Malone has ATHM bagged with his couch potato theory of the future of cable. His vision is still tv-centric. Jermoluk is getting on this bandwagon and loosing interest in the PC internet. That's an error because the PC internet is where the big bucks are not the couch potato. If you're Madison Ave or old, you don't understand that.

T bought TCI for the cable, not for ATHM. They also did it because it's a way around the idiot Telcom Act. There's no way anyone can stop the local to LD distribution power of cable. Since that is unavoidably true, it will be truly a free market and that means there's no money in it unless you provide an added value service either through specialty data distribution or interactive multimedia content.

Are you suggesting that it is meaningful to count the number of VPNs which can dance on the head of a pin?
