You brought up some very good points regarding stock hype. I hate to admit it, but when I started out I got burned on a few of these "hot stocks" before I learned this lesson.

Regarding NVID however, I know for a fact there is no "pump & dump" going on, at least not by anyone associated with the company. The current management is almost conservative to a fault regarding any news that could be (mis)construed as "hype." This is because of the history of the company, and the problems with the SEC that they inherited. . Those people who have followed the company however, understand that the groundwork has been laid for a quantum leap forward and we are all anxiously awaiting news releases.

I'm not sure what instigates a run on the stock when no news has been released. Somebody "knows" something, or thinks they know something? Day traders jumping the gun? Should we follow them or wait?

The posture I've taken is to wait for news from the company. At least then when the stock goes up, I know WHY it went up. Otherwise, I think we can all assume it ain't going to last long.

Regards,

Tuman
