mr smith, poorly performing in which way? if you mean market performer, and solid performance in real life, then yes, i would buy shares back. if the company is performing miserably, in biz, then cash is needed to plug holes and repair the ship. buying stock is not the best place to start with a company overhaul.
ex. you own a last place horse... instead of betting it all on your losing longshot horse, may be better to use that money to pay for a new trainer.
