Oriole's subsidiary, Dyad Systems, has signed an agreement with IBM U.S. to
develop and market the next generation of its flagship PowerTouch Financial
Management System using IBM SanFrancisco business application components
for Java. The project is on schedule for release at year end 1998.
PowerTouch Financial Management Systems was developed by Dyad for budget
driven government organizations. Within IBM's innovative SanFrancisco
framework the new PowerTouch will provide Dyad with a distinct competitive
advantage as the company pursues additional business opportunities in the
public sector.
IBM SanFrancisco is one of the industry's most ambitious Java initiatives
and has been designed and built in the marketplace in co-operation with
leading software vendors from around the world.
IBM SanFrancisco is designed to revolutionize business application
development. The technology is based on the concept of extendible
Java-based business process components. The structure and architecture of
SanFrancisco enables businesses to leverage IT assets and integrate with
many existing business systems. Currently licenced by over 530 companies,
SanFrancisco provides up to 40 per cent of the code needed to build line of
business applications. It will be of special interest to those
organizations looking for Internet-enabled, secure, scaleable software
solutions.
