down 7 bucks I guess the momentum guys are going elsewhere.
But a disappointing profit report
from Merck brought an abrupt halt
to the industrials' advance. The drug
giant missed Wall Street estimates
by a penny, blaming its sluggish
income growth to inflation and
unfavorable exchange rates.
