I had a nice conversation with the man who demoed the Magic Phone. He said this system was based on a high end DSP chip from NEC. I think they made less that 10 prototypes. The system was an internal project. I liked it. I don't think it will be too unusual once more DSP chips come out with integrated ASR.

What I gathered from the whole thing was that it had potential, but it was not ready for any significant development effort.

I believe they used the press release as a timely way to keep the share price up. This is important as they were negotiating a convertible stock deal and it would be based on the share price of a certain day, which was about 3 days after the Magic Phone was announced. To me, this announcement was a brilliant chess move. I appreciated it.

So, I feel Magic Phone is just one of many, many projects that GMGC could announce, but can't spend the time and energy developing as they need to focus on Portico. They don't need another DataRover, also a good product but time consuming to market.

They need focus. Make Portico a success and they will boom with as they take those revenues and develop more internal projects.

Just my opinion.

Regards,

Mark
