I could be cynical and suggest that the prices are being allowed to drift lower to make it cheaper for the buy back. I wish they would some how hint to the long times who went through the 'bad' times that this was their intention. I think that would be the fair thing to do. I know, I know, fairness has nothing to do with investing.
