Chuzz, please clarify what you and Jim mean by the term "commodity" when you use the word in connection with Dell's computer assembly business? I this will help all of us on the thread understand Dell better.

To me, a commodity used to mean pork bellies, or winter wheat, or silver. Now the word is used to in some way belittle a product, i,e. clothes from Wal-Mart, the personal computer.

In this context, please define "commodity." What do you mean? is this what Jim means when he uses the word?

When gentlemen define their terms, knowledge increases.
