To Dana, Greenspan's infallibility quotient went to hell for me years ago when he had a federal job certifying the solvency of savings and loan institutions. Of 12, under his examination, and certified solvent, one was a bank and not an S & L. Of the 12, 11 went belly up within the next 12 to 18 months. This account comes from a Harpers magazine article, read some years back, about the S&L debacle that resulted from deregulation of the industry. The man is just another economist working in an inexact science, not GOD.
To all, Interpreting a man's intentions, unless you have psychic powers, makes no sense at all, and words spoken are history and can not be rewritten, so nothing is gained by agonizing over them or their consequences. Let it GO!!!
It seems that most people, including Greenspan, have missed the fact that the flight of capital had started leaving big caps several days before AG spoke. The market place is still the most efficient regulator of its affairs. Trust it!!!
MRVC is a winner. In on my birthday Sept.'94 @ $8.50 before the 3/2 and 2/1 splits. Stay with it and prosper!!!
