$105mm operating profit is a shortfall for Q2 of between $5-10mm, depending on who had them pegged where before today's pre-announcement. Look like this works out to about 28cents/share vs expected of about 32cents. Sure this is a hit, but for a company with $2b in cash looking to make a strategic acquisition in health/med sector to help put on growth curve again sometime in next couple of quarters, is today's action overreaction or is there something else?
I'm aware of the dilution talks on yahoo board. Key issue is whether they can implement growth to bottom line in next 1-2 yrs. Traders today voting with their feet and exiting. Anyone strive to point out if this is overdone or completely justified?
