I dont like ptc much, and never did. I really agree with the leaving the bodies along the road comment. I had a friend who was one of the best CADCAM engineers/Systems engineers I have ever had the pleasure in working with who interviewed with PTC. They shot him down because his grade point average wasnt high enough! I knew the company was screwed from that day forward. What kind of an idiot sends a Human Resorce guy out to interview people for very technical positions. I personally hire people who know what the hell they are doing and can make me money, I dont even care if they finished kinny garden!!! And I now if they can do the job because I know the job!!! The sales force had some flashy demos and big promises but couldnt deliver most on the manufacturing side of the software. The surfacing was pretty weak also compared to ALIAS or CATIA. It worked fine for bulding boxes like refrigerators and such. Wait until CATIA comes out on a pc planform. Everybody is dead!!! There is no cradle to grave design, manufacturing, pdm, data mgr etc etc!!!! I have worked with most of them extensively. I still like SGI. no one is considering the increase in sales they are going to have since the largest engineering software package in the world has announced it will finally not run exclusively on IBM hardware. Guess who was one of the new guys???? Wait until the HP jocky straightens things out after McCracken idn't drivin no more!!!!!!!!!! Besides, they have the best graphics performance in the world. Wait until they introduce there new PC's (and with CATIA!!!!!) long live the Queen baby!!
