The companies in this group are valued by their earnings and their potential earnings....some may never make the big time...others will be collected by larger companies and will get the funding, management, etc to allow then to grow. Others will fall by the side of the road. IMO Vivus will recover with the assistance of a US sales partner or be bought out... There are many that are trading for $20 or more a share and have little or no earnings projected for the 3rd qtr and thru 1999. here's a few that will make a few cents this qtr that are trading above $20: idph $26 eps .09 cnto 36 .05 biox 53 .04 a much larger group that will have a loss in the 3rd qtr that are also trading above $20 hgsi $39 -.01 zona 23 -.17 icos 20 -.19 alks 21 -.20 tktx 29 -.21 igen 39 -.22 pdli 23 -.22 endm 32 -.22 affx 28 -.28 imvx 70 -.29 vrtx 21 -.36 sang 28 -.40 nxco 36 -.43 gild 67 -.67 avir 32 -.69 Vivus is in the penalty box for it's past performance. PW Charlie O' upgrade is on target and PW is putting it's money and it's clients into Vivus for a ride to $20 or more....it may be a quicker ride if Vivus is sold to a larger company or a little slower if they do it thru proven eps.
