TD, What is so strange is that these reporters run in packs with the same wild hair up their patooties. They want to be Woodward and Bernstein and if there is no scandal, by jiminy, they will invent one. Sort of like the way Horace Greeley and Randy Hearst started the Spanish American War. <G>

One way to make certain you will not be quoted is to blame the media for something. That will never make print. I laughed at the scam they had on CNN when they discovered that a story they had about US troops using nerve gas in Nam was a phony. Instead of doing a lot of mea culpas, everyone on CNN bragged about how their boss faced the problem head on and his resolve during this unprecedented crisis and other brown-nosing comments. And I loved Peter Arnet's comment that "I don't know nuthin' about birthin' no babies." Oops, that was somebody else. He said "I don't know nuthin' about journalism, but don't I look informed to the camera?"

But our business is just as bad. I knew guys who managed portfolios for years who never beat the market. But, dang it, they dressed nice, had a $100 haircut, and they looked like portfolio managers. <G>
