Jan:

No doubt MMs and/or insiders as this would be one very easy way to monetize and equity position and lock in profits and -- hey -- no filing needed. If, however, company policy prohibits call writing by insiders and/or there are laws prohibiting such actions, then guess what MSDW's derivatives desk will arrange a fairly simple total return swap with AMZN wherebye Bezos, etal receive the total return on the S&P500 or a bond index, whatever the benchmark, and MSDW receives the capital gains or losses from amzn's stock. MSDW, no dipsh-ts they, turn around and hedge the position and pass along the costs as part of fees to AMZN>

LP

PS Hey, does anyone think that a good barrons reporter would be able to find out if amzn insiders, had in fact, entered into OTC derivative contracts????
