Jean,

1. NC's are just the beginning in home computing appliances.
They will run Java (NOT Unix), mainly using embedded systems.
Since desktops represent only 2% of the microcomputer market,
this segment has enormous potential. Currently, SUNW has
no competitors. The PC market in the USA has hit the wall @40
million units. That figure has remained fairly constant over
the last few years. That means there are 60 million households
who don't want or can't afford PC's. SUNW's contract with TCI
alone will produce around 20 MILLION set top boxes running Java,
including 5 to 10 MILLION running SUNW's JVM, as well. Don't
kid yourself, Jean, SUNW is about a lot more than internet
servers.

2. Get off the CEO's back, willya?? SUNW's numbers indicate that
his strategies are working. MSFT is a popular whipping-boy because
they represent SUNW's antithesis: poor-quality software, closed &
proprietary systems, a marketing (instead of engineering) corporate
culture, and a spoiled-brat, dim-witted bullshit artist for a CEO.
SUNW is gaining valuable brand-name recognition by criticizing MSFT
and establishing itself as the only credible alternative. Besides,
Ballmer & Butthead can take it, they're used to it by now.
