Bill, Yes, it may be a light weight article, but does he have a choice? You apparently don't think so, I assume. But than even more important in my mind is the fact that if Apple doesn't take this approach who is going to, any time in the near future? I mean take on the WINTEL partnership. I think no one. WINTEL will have it all. That being the case , technology will go at their pace for quite some time I would think, only Gates will not have the benefit of following the technology leader, such as an APPLE because they won't be. I just think APPLE management is counting on some of us out here in the market place, to see it that way and give them a vote of confidence. They will get mine for sure. I am very predjudice. I liked the article and I want to see APPLE "go for it". They got nothing to loose and that msot of us will agree on IMO. :-}
