Tuesday July 21, 5:16 pm Eastern Time Company Press Release Geac Announces Sale To Four Sheraton Hotels In Hawaii MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1998--Geac (TSE:GAC. - news) today announced that it has won the contract to install Geac/UX Property Management System (PMS) at ITT Sheraton's four-hotel, 4,300-room complex in Waikiki, Hawaii.
The contract is the largest single order ITT Sheraton has ever placed for a property management system. Upon completion, Geac/UX will consolidate all cashier transactions, telephone operations, housekeeping, night auditing, commercial firm tracking, statistics, database maintenance, security and accounts receivable for all four hotels on to one server - the Multiple Property Server (MPS), at one location and with only one IT staff.
For ITT Sheraton, Geac/UX will simultaneously lower MIS operating and personnel costs, improve guest service quality and augment revenues. Geac/UX gives the hotel the ability to keep a guest history, which speeds up the reservation process, provides a more personalized service to each guest and in addition allow hotel management to develop guest reward and recognition programs. Geac/UX also allows management to maintain rate integrity and manage inventory in real-time at all four properties. More significantly, Geac/UX will allow guests to have unlimited, billable access to the services of any of the four Sheraton hotels connected to the MPS, independent of where the guest is staying. These functionalities will allow the Sheraton Hawaii Division to work more efficiently with their wholesale tourism partners and profit from the booming upscale tourism business.
