Will Hou,

Ok, here's a response to your post.

>>Interesting group of people we've got here.<<

Thanks you...I'll take that as a complement:-)

>>Couple of really determined "investors" swearing the possibilities of a "pop" on Monday. Sure! Definitely! No doubt! Techie! Run dog run! (or is it forest?) And one even popped my eyes out with a
price tag of $300 (I imagine that was USD) in 3 years. Then by the time Monday afternoon approached, the tune turned big time to "pathetic", "dead" and of course, the tired dog theory.<<

On this I could write a thesis. Just to shorten the answer,
we have lots of "different characters" on this thread. When
things are going good, certain types do more posting...vice
versa when things aren't going so good.

The "$300"...part joke, part truth, part killing time waiting
for COMS going up. (IMO it's true though, maybe 5 years...not 3<gg>)

The "pop" on Monday. You have to read between the lines. Part
cheering, part killing boredom, part VERY PUZZLING options
friday, part of some peoples way of having fun, part some people
have no lives so they live their emotional life through COMS
(blank for instance...<g>). COMS is a very peculiar behaving
stock...for some people it's a "challenge" to try to figure
it out. For other's , it's a nightmare.

In short....lots of different personalities here which is good
because we ultimately get lots of viewpoints.

>>I was curious on this as well because not only I am a proud owner of Pilot Pro...<<

I think some people are attracted to investing in COMS because
they own one.

>>questions on why this No.2 networking giant is not doing so good.
....didn't get answered (or maybe I missed a few postings)<<

Yeah, you have to put in some work, you know. Just read today's
posts and you will get a sense. Try going back a few days or
weeks worth. If you're not willing to do this...I warn you that
you will not have the patience for COMS, and you'll "throw
in the towel before long".

>>...AMZN...has a future<<

As a stock yes, as a company that makes a profit...nobody knows
that yet.

>>3Com has defined itself to the lower end of the networking market,
namely remote access/dialups, adaptors and carrier level. CSCO is dominate in higher end and fighting its way into voice and some claims that a big clash with LU is coming. We don't care about that. So, although listed as No.2, it is a shrinking No.2, with Intel
making low end equipments and adaptors with lower pricing and other means of accessing/dialups coming into play,...<<

You need more homework on COMS. They make a lot of products, some
low end some high end. Low end can still make profits. Look at
low margin box maker DELL. COMS is also transitioning to
higher end products. It takes a while to understand the networking
products. I'm still working on it myself.

Intel - Intel has tried to prove itself in the network area, and
has done a terrible job. COMS has whipped it's butt in this
area already...and will probably continue.

COMS has lot more tougher challenges than pseudo competition like
Intel and CPQ.

>>...COMS bought USRX at a discount...<<

See, if you did you're homework, you'd never say something like
this. Even me, MR. BULL, I gotta admit that USRX was a big
chunk of $$.

>>merger times is turbulent times and it's gonna take a while for things to get going. That could partially explain the depressed stock price.<<

true

>>According to research reports, COMS LT future growth is 25%
(next 5 years), and the past 5 years it has a 20% growth rate.<<

Different ANALysts have different opinions on this...but more or
less true...

>>The company is becoming a maker of commodity devices, and I do not see how that could help it going forward.<<

This is B*LLS*T - simplistic generalization about COMS. Also, some
companies do well with commodities...did I mention DELL?.
