Smith Barney's Christina Heuer is among the "analysts" who recommended dumping Merck when it was 85 last fall. I dumped my position and traded it for LLY. So much for analysts. I'm skeptical of the various interests which are shorting the stock, etc. In all of the advice I've read about investing, experts claim that "volatility" is the small investor's enemy. There are too many traders, speculators, gamblers, etc. out there to play their game. But buying and holding MRK long term has always been sound investment advice. With today's move, I am considering adding a few more shares, but first I want to see what happens in the am.
