Someplace in middle America a young man was preparing to graduate from high school. In his neighborhood it was customary to get a new car upon graduation.

He and his father went car shopping some weeks prior to the big day.
The young boy had finally decided on what car he wanted. His father assured him that it was as good as delivered. He couldn't wait to get back to his classmates and tell of his soon to be shiny new car.

On the afternoon of his graduation he expected to come out of the auditorium and behold the shiny new car all tied up with a big red bow. To his complete dismay, there was no car. His father instead handed him a beautifully wrapped small package. He opened it and saw that it was a Bible. The kid's eyes dropped to the floor, he cursed his father, and ran off.

He left home and started his own life with some friends in another state. He called home on special occasions only to talk with his mom.
About 11 yrs later he went back home to attend his father funeral. After all the formalities were over the kid (now a 29yr. old man) was going through some of his father's belongings which were in a chest. There hw found that old dust Bible still half wrapped. He slumped down on to the floor remembering bitterly the day his father presented him with that Bible outside the auditorium and embarrassed him in fornt of his buddies.

He again felt a little bit sorry for himself and cried some more from remembering that hurtful day in June 11 yrs. ago. He passively thumbed through that old Bible and out fell a cashier's check made out to the car dealer on the date of his graduation, in the exact amt. of the new shiny car he had chosen with all the Xtra's.....he now cried from shame.

Have a good evening Dan
Shalom...><>
