Yesterday, at the Ace Hardware here in Kansas City, I saw a product by Prestone called Insta Trak. It claimed to give 3 times the traction of snow tires. The can listed a couple of ingredients in the "danger" section, but didn't mention Xzloy. I thought this had to be Spray N Go, but why rename it? I bought 2 cans to have in our trunks just in case. Last year, we had such a bad ice storm, I tried pouring bleach on the tires, supposed to soften the tire for traction; it harms the tire, doesn't last long, and I didn't notice any results. The Insta Trak was $6.50, would be about $5 at Walmart, probably lower when volumes are high enough. A bit pricey, but people driving a lot or for a living would want it for sure. I noticed Heartland Advisors is in Astrotech, perhaps if Lenp gets on the Nasdaq, this is the type of company the small cap funds would buy into.
About six months ago, I sent Ken the annual report for Royal Plastics Group, RYG-nyse, because they make houses from polymers that withstand hurricanes and can be erected in 3 days with semi-skilled labor. They are selling them to developing countries that don't have wood, and need cheap houses. They are making vinyl doors and siding. I thought Ken could sell something to them. I continue to believe that applications like this are numerous and it takes time for a company of only 7 people to get things rolling. |
