Pilgrim, no, I wasn't touting Sun's Java machines. In fact, you can see my posts over on the SUNW thread poo-pooing Java. (I like SUNW a lot, but not their rediculous Java quest.)
I do think, though, that given the choice of a PSC1000 or a picoJava processor, most engineers would choose the picoJava.
Does Sun have one? I dunno. I haven't followed it much - remember, I think it's a stupid idea in the first place. But if they don't have one, it it still under development, while the PSC1000 grows long in the tooth while sitting on the shelf. Where is the next generation?
I believe that the price change since I last posted is due to the factors that I outlined - difficult choice for designers to make (small, unknown company), lack of sales, lack of focus by the company, and continued dillution of the stock.
If you meant to say that the price drop was not the direct result of my posts, I'd agree with you, because I don't feel that individuals posting on SI have much if any ability to influence stock prices. |
