"This is London", Wednesday noon, by MALCOLM WITHERS Out in the stormy waters off the Falkland Islands, Shell - down 2 1/2p to 413 1/2p - is rumoured to be having great success in drilling at Tranche B, giving a further boost to speculative oil minnow Desire Petroleum, up 6p to 216 1/2p. Stakeholder and gold miner Greenwich Resources added 1p to 26p and Westmount Energy jumped 7 1/2p to 130p. When Shell finishes its drilling in the autumn, the platform moves to Tranche F, entirely owned by Swedish-based and AIM-quoted Sodra Petroleum. Speculators dumped their doubts about it being foreign-owned to boost the shares 2p to 67 1/2p.
