Yes, all the motherboards being made now and periferals are USB and that is the future. The hard drives now are just as fast as SCSI.
OK, some people need dives for ultra high speed stuff but those are far and few between. True an assembly line could make anything they want but theres a lot of competition in the assembly line business in Asia. A company that states they are going to make EIDE controllers and SCSI controllers sounds suspicious even for third world countries where software and periferals will need to be current.
