It is not exactly that "fundamentals just don't count" it is more like there are new fundamentals that we have yet to identify and quantify. Maybe somebody knows what some of them are but I don't. I do know that the old ones don't work so well. How do you value a company that gives its product away? What is the potential for a company that millions of people use every day and millions more are joining all the time? I just read where the use of the Internet is being adopted at an even faster rate than television was in the '50s. Who knows what the value of EDI and ecommerce software companies whose products enable other companies to operate at a tiny fraction of the cost of doing business with paper? I submit it is not EPS or current ratios or market cap.
