The major averages are down today and the SOX in particular is putting pressure on VLSI. It is down over 8 points to 252.95. Most of the loss in the SOX is due to LLTC which is down 6 3/8 and had been down 10 1/2 earlier. The semiconductor stocks are very volatile but I think the trend is still towards higher prices. This is the reason why I phase into VLSI when building a position. I personally think that you did the right thing covering your short options today. More than likely, you will be able to sell them again on a rally and do it all over again.
