Valid points Frank. However, some organizations may be able to use inhouse resources to maintain their systems just as they did before Y2K became a problem.

We should remember that many organizations have put major new developments on hold while they deal with Y2K fixes. After Y2K, there will be a large volume of new IT projects starting up and the majority of them, unlike the legacy systems, will be based on the latest technology. I am still concerned about investing in firms that have Y2K as their major service offering. Anyway, the good news is that there should be lots of business for everyone who offers IT services!
