And also, I believe, on rev. from acquired co's--very bad. If this is so, just to maintain sequential growth, it took a ton more advertising expense, and acquired co's revenue thrown into the pot (for another large expense).

Interesting that AMZN wants to "for informational purposes" provide pro forma earnings (losses) w/o new company expense; but purposely chooses not to inform what pro forma revenues would have been w/o new companies.
