Greg asked me to comment on the following:

I'd bet Jill (the Webmistress), or one of her cronies could
help legal officials track down HK BONER if they really wanted to pursue it, starting with the origin from where the post came from.
(server address, time logs, etc.)
I'm not saying it would be easy, but possible...

Not only possible, but easy. As stated, each post is logged. Jill knows for instance, that I posted from Earthlink.net. She knows the time, the absolute Internet address (identifies Earthlink.net) where the post came from, the destination Internet address (of course), the post number, and other information. The authorities can request from Earthlink, what account connected to the destination Internet address (SI) at approximately that time (timeclocks vary). A little more verification matching the activity and they have it. The billing person is responsible for that account and they have the billing information ready to turn over to the authorities.

Ken Schumacher is correct, they catch all those perverted pedophile bozos and dumb high school teenagers who e-mail the White House with threats.

Each time you dial into your provider, your absolute Internet address is assigned dynamically for the current session. Tomorrow, someone else dialing into your provider can be assigned your address that was assigned to you today. But in all cases, your provider knows who you are based upon the account that you setup with them and your method of payment. They also know every single computer that you connected with (including what subdirectories/paths that you went to) and what time. The destination computers also have their respective logs. Matching the two is childs play.

For those of you attached to a network at work or elsewhere, they know your login ID and what computer you used and the time-date stamp, so you people are not off the hook either.

The fact is that if an attorney subpoenas the information to identify the person's Internet account originating any specific post to SI, THEY WILL GET IT, billing address and all.

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING! is an accurate statement.
