Jim, Chuzz, if Dell is the STANDARD, IS IT STILL A COMMODITY PACKAGER? Put another way, what would it take in your mind for any computer maker not just Dell to transform the PC box, de-commoditize it? Or maybe you believe this is impossible. Dell has excellent service, custom builds, internet services and pays more personal attention to its customers than the competition. If this doesnt do it, can anything do the trick? Is Windows just a commidity? There are many operating systems out there, but Windows is the standard. Is "Intel inside" just an advertising slogan. and Intel chips just silicon like all the others. What does it take to turn a commodity into a brand name product? jhg
