Didn't see this LU thread til after I posted the following. I think this subject is very engaging. Has interest here at SI evaporated for some reason? >To all: Don't know if this has been discussed here, but are there any thoughts on the article in "Smart Money", August 98 P. 30, 32 which lists 5 likely takeover targets once the 2 year restriction is lifted off Lucent in October so that they may make acquisitions. Specific Q is which if any of the 5 seems most likely to anyone on the thread. I don't own Lucent at these numbers, but would be interested in their possible targets. Here they are, according to the article: Adtran - adtn, Advanced Fibre Comm - afci, Analog devices - adi, Pairgain Technolgies - pair, Xylan - xyln. I've created a watch account on my MSN investor program to track possible Lucent takeover candidates.< I've added the ones I've read here to the list as well; making nearly a dozen candidates so far. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks! Stan
