<<I agree the initial reaction should be positive. But I dont know about the digested part. In Q1, as soon as Farrel began his 'dont expect us to beat estimates this much in future quarters' bit, we tanked.>>

Shouldn't we take heed to his comments, or was this smoke & mirrors?

Bill - Honestly, his statements have always bothered me - just a bit. My impression is he definitely wants to keep the 'bar' low so he can beat expectations. It was really unclear what exactly he meant when he said that. In q1, analysts were projecting around .40 and we got .86.

He could have meant it several ways:

1. Don't expect us to keep earning .80+.
2. Don't expect us to beat the number next time by .46.
3. Don't expect us to keep doubling your estimates.
4. We will be taking a charge, so after that your estimate is reasonable.

Unless, we know more about how he was intending his statement to be read, its hard to say. All I know is that the .20 is a joke. I am sure the analysts know their estimates are probably low, but I don't know how high they really think it might go.
