Bezo also said that margins outside of books were lower and that competition stronger and specialized skills were more important. Do you speculate that Amazon.com will one day compete with Compaq, Dell, GateWay, Onsale, Egghead and others? If so, you are completely misinformed on Amazon's capabilities, the realities of internet and general merchandizing and their intent to build the business responsibly. Wild speculation has now gotten Amazon.com into a situation in which it may feel pressure by investors to live up to some dream for expansion that is irresponsible and could ruin the company altogether. To wildly inflate expectations so you can make a personal killing, not caring what the company really plans to accomplish? Is that what you want? Well you've already got that and more.
