Yes that 11› was way off the company warned in the mid 30› range.
Of course it came in even worse than they warned, but did that include the charge. I think the stock will move more from the conference call scheduled for tomorrow morning and how analysts feel the company has taken steps and how they sense the future.

Earnings in the equipment and manufacturing side have been coming out dismal. Almost all the companies are announcing cut backs by closing plants and laying off employees. Many say the fourth quarter will be even worse than the third. And in some areas 1999 is projected as being 15% less than 1998 in sales. I feel sick....

I don't think aflx fits into this scenario for 1999, but things are bad out ther fo rsure and now the reall effects are rolling in. Hopefully we will see some improvement in atleast some fo teh companies in the fourth quarter.
